Instructions for Blog #4

For this Blog entry, you will be writing as YOURSELF instead of as a specific character. Answer the following questions in your entry.

1) What do you think of the Novel so far? Why?
2) What has been your favourite part of the novel? Why?
3) What has been your least favourite part? Why
4) If you were Jonas, how would you feel about being selected as receiver? Happy? Sad? Scared?
5) What do you think about THe Community? Why? How would you change it to make it better?
6) How do you think the Novel is going to end?

Instructions for Blog #3

For your third blog, you will be writing as The Giver. Comment on how you feel about Jonas and his training. Do you think he will be ready to become the new receiver? Or do you think he will fail like the previous trainee? What are you afraid might happen to Jonas? Do you think he will be able to handle his training even though it will be so difficult? What about your own future? What do you think is going to happen to you when you are no longer needed for Jonas' training?

Remember that you are writing as The Giver this time! Not Jonas!

Instructions for Blog #2

By now, you've all created a profile based on your character and written your first blog entry as that character. Good for you!

For your next blog, click on NEW POST to begin. Then, you will all be writing as JONAS, NOT YOUR ORIGINAL CHARACTER, (unless your original character was Jonas of course :) )

Writing as Jonas, comment on your training with the Giver. What have you been doing? What are you afraid of? What do you think is going to happen next? What do you like about the training? What do you not like? What is frustrating for you?

Start by answering these questions, but feel free to answer other questions that are not mentioned here.

As always, proofread your work for spelling and grammar! (I can help you with this part.)

Instructions for your first blog entry

In your blog, remember that you are writing as your character. NOT yourself. Write about e events in the story to this point from your characters perspective. Concentrate on the most important events such as the ceremonies and other significant events.

You should also comment on things that have happened to you (your character) in the past. How did these things make you feel? For example, if you're Asher, you may want to comment on how you felt when you were beaten as a child.

Overall, write as if you were writing in a diary, and don't be afraid to be creative!
